A Mobile Pantry is a Food Bank truck full of food that is brought to a central location where clients can pick up a three-day supply of food. In 2009, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank piloted its first Mobile Pantry
delivering food to people living in underserved areas.
Agencies and Food Bank staff work together to plant and maintain the gardens
. Each week Food Bank staff have been watering the gardens daily and member agencies come once a week to water, weed and eventually pick the produce for use at their feeding programs.
