Thank you for your hard work and compassion in providing food to hungry neighbors, children and families in your communities. Last year, Cleveland Foodbank (CFB) member programs received over 35.4 million pounds of food and products which provided over 29 million meals to those in need! We are proud to partner with your program in the fight against hunger in Ashland, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake and Richland counties.
To the right, is a video about one of our member agencies doing great work in the area.
The Cleveland Foodbank provides food and non-food items to nearly 700 member programs. These programs include pantries, hot meal programs, shelters and other non-profit organizations including children’s after school programs, senior programs and rehabilitation programs. The Foodbank also offers critical support to member agencies in the form of grants, equipment, educational workshops on a variety of topics including nutrition, grant writing and safe food handling and advocacy outreach.
Accessing the Foodbank to stock their shelves allows community hunger relief programs to stretch their dollars, providing more food for more people in need. The Foodbank distributes donated product at .10¢/lb or for free, USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) products at no charge, OFP (Ohio Food Program) products at no charge and all fresh produce, bread and dairy products at no charge. Also, dollars that are donated through the Harvest for Hunger campaign provide food at no cost for pantries, hot meals and shelter programs in the counties where those funds were raised.
We sincerely thank our current member programs for their phenomenal effort in serving the ever-increasing number of people in need of food in our communities.
